Welcome to the home page of The Gladstone Historical Society
The Society is based at the Gladstone Hotel on Loscoe Road, Carrington, Nottingham.
It is dedicated to historical discussion, trips to places of historical interest, and links where appropriate with Nottingham's past, including its association with William Ewart Gladstone (after whom the hotel is named), who was MP for Newark as well as Prime Minister during the reign of Queen Victoria, and who owned land in the Carrington and Forest areas of Nottingham.
The site is organised by members of the society who meet regularly in the Gladstone Hotel, which is one of the finest pubs in Nottingham. We hope you find it informative.
